This project aims to verify the feasibility of a new tourist port that fits into the current limits of the existent maritime works. At the same time, the project plans to enlarge the nautical dock in order to accommodate large yachts, up to 70 meters in length, and to build luxury hotels and other facilities related to nautical services.
The design proposes a resolutely modern, contemporary architecture, with a complex interplay of horizontal and vertical alignments in order to integrate – gently but at the same time with character – the new buildings: a luxury hotel, nautical services (building site for maintenance and offices), commercial activities and restaurants.
A lively architecture, alternating full and empty spaces, double-skin facades with large windows to take advantage of the site’s extraordinary exposure. The multiple orientations of the facades guarantee full control of the heat, perfected by the use of brise-soleil and ventilated walls.
The built structures are completed by a large green roof, in fact a real public park for citizens and guests of the port, a large green covering that guarantees at the same time the control of summer and winter temperatures and above all the landscape insertion of the project in a complicated territory.
A cycle path on the northern border of the project area, built on the abandoned railway tracks and a virtuous continuation of the one already built on the Ligurian coast, completes the attractions of the port.
